I was very happy to find blueberries in the market at a reasonable price. I didn't buy much, only 2 kg of which 1 kg went quickly to the freezer in pans, for cakes in winter, and from the other kg I made a good jam. I don't do much for the winter, but so little of each gathers slowly, slowly and fills the shelf in the pantry.
- 1 kg of blueberries
- 700 gr sugar (maybe even less if they are very ripe)
- juice of 1/2 lemon
Preparation time: less than 60 minutes
RECIPE PREPARATION Blueberry jam:
We wash the fruits and clean them of any stalks and leaves (this operation took me about 2 hours :().
Put the fruits in a bowl and add the sugar over them and mix. Refrigerate until the next day and stir from time to time to melt the sugar.
The next day we take it out of the fridge, add the lemon juice and mix. Put on the fire until it warms up well.
I passed three quarters of the amount in the blender and left the rest like that. Put it back on the fire on a low flame (I put it on a cast iron hob) and let it boil for about 40-45 minutes.
It must be mixed quite often because it sticks quickly to the bottom of the pot.
Pour into sterilized jars, screw the lid tightly and then put the jars in a warm place in a blanket to cool gradually.
From the above quantity I got 4 jars of 370 ml.
