Snow White Cake Dessert - Recipe no. 500

The sheets are made first, which will be baked on the bottom of a round tray or a saucepan. Mix / mix the sugar well with: eggs, vanilla, baking soda and a little oil. When the sugar has completely melted, gradually incorporate the flour, until the dough becomes bound, elastic and non-sticky.

When the dough is ready (suitable for soft and easy to shape) it is divided into six equal pieces. Spread a piece of dough on the bottom of a round tray, greased with oil beforehand and put in the preheated oven, at medium temperature, until the sheet dries and hardens.

With a knife with a thin blade, gently peel off the sheet and place it on a plate to cool it. Do the same until all the sheets are done. The sheets do not brown much, but only very little, at the base.

For the cream, mix the food starch (or flour) with the sugar and vanilla and gradually add the cold milk, being very careful not to form lumps. Bring the composition to a simmer and stir constantly (so that it does not stick to the bottom of the pot) until it thickens. When this "porridge" is thickened and evenly, take the pan off the heat and leave it to cool, but stir in it from time to time, so as not to form lumps on top.

When the porridge has cooled, add the butter, mix for homogenization and finally add the essence, or lemon juice, to taste.

Let the cream cool for at least 30 minutes, after which you can assemble the cake.

Meanwhile, make the syrup from water and sugar, boil for 2-3 minutes, and when it cools, add a favorite essence (lemon, rum, vanilla).

Syrup the first sheet of cake, grease it with cream and place the second sheet on top, which is also syruped and greased. Do the same until you put the last sheet, which will be syruped on the side that will overlap the cream.

Cover the cake with a food foil on which to put something heavy, for pressing and let it cool overnight for at least 24 hours. The rest of the cream, for decoration, will be put in the refrigerator until the next day.

The next day, when the sheets have been pressed enough and softened, grease the cake evenly, with the cream kept cold and decorate, as desired.

Do not brown the sheets hard in the oven, just a little. Otherwise, the cake could no longer be called "Snow White".

For the cream, use cold milk, even if it will take longer to thicken the "porridge" on low heat. Thus, the risk of lumps forming is lower than if the milk were warm.

Stir constantly the “porridge” of starch / flour and milk, over low heat, until it thickens and becomes uniform.

You have to mix this "porridge" from time to time until it cools down, so that no lumps form on top.

Add the butter to the "porridge" only after it has cooled completely. Otherwise, the cream will soften and will not harden, no matter how long you keep it in the fridge.

For the cream, the butter should be soft and easy to mix. That's why it's good to take it out of the fridge in time.

The sheets can soften even if they are not syrupy, but it will take longer.

Do not add the essence to the syrup until it has cooled.

Make sure that the cake will not attract other odors from the refrigerator, while it will stay cold for pressing the sheets.

Store the cake in the refrigerator until done.


1. Heat the oven to the highest level. Wallpaper a rectangular tray with wax paper (if we have more of the same size it is even better) and put it aside.

2. In a bowl, put the butter, sugar, vanilla essence and mix well until they become foam, about 5-8 minutes.

3. Then add, one by one, eggs, beat well until each one is incorporated and only then add the next one.

4. Mix flour and baking soda in a bowl.

5. In another bowl, mix the yogurt and cocoa well.

6. Add both compositions to the butter foam, alternating them, starting with the dry ingredients and ending with the dry ones. Mix until they are all well incorporated.

7. Divide the composition into four portions (to make sure that the sheets will be equal, I weighed the composition to be as fixed as possible) and then pour a portion into the previously prepared tray.

8. Put the tray in the oven over high heat until it penetrates. We do the toothpick test. NOTE: We try to follow the countertop and not keep it too long in the oven, it gets bitter.

9. When it is baked, remove the top from the tray and let it cool down a bit, then transfer it to a grill. 10. Bake the rest of the portions. NOTE: For the cake in the picture I prepared two portions, so while baking the sheets of the first portion, I prepared the composite for the second portion, which resulted in another 4 sheets of countertop. In total I had 8 sheets.

2. When the chocolate is melted, mix very well until the composition is creamy, let it cool and then let the bowl cool for 3 hours.

3. Then put the cream in a bowl and beat it with the mixer until it becomes a creamy and aerated foam.

4. Take about 4-5 tablespoons of the entire amount of cream and set them aside. NOTE: The ingredients given are for one serving. I prepared 3 servings of cream for this cake.

White as the snow . the cake that always reminds me of my childhood! On any major holiday of the year, my mother made this cake and in my vision it was the best cake in the world! Okay, it's still on my list of favorites as the best :).
Due to lack of time at the time, I adapted it and used ready-made products to prepare it.
